VOCADEMY offers singing, piano and music theory tuition with an emphasis on technique, performance skill, confidence building and artist development. Learn how to sing and play at a professional level with our simple technique training and mental triggers, keeping everything easy to understand and super effective!
We offer 1-1 SINGING & PIANO lessons for adults and children 7+.
In-person 1-1 singing lessons are available in Maidstone & Medway, Kent.
In-person piano lessons are available in Maidstone, Kent.
And our ONLINE lessons and resources make Vocademy's training available wherever you are in the world 🌍🎶

Meet Our Coaches
Principal Dani Baker
Principal Vocal Coach / Company Director

Dani started vocal training at age 11 studying Classical and Musical Theatre and throughout her teen's performed at various events, took part in competitions and studied for graded vocals exams, gaining Grade 8 ABRSM. At 18 Dani began performing at weddings and corporate events, performing everything through Pop, Rock, Swing & Motown and learning the world of professional musicianship. Dani is also certified in Level 1 & 2 of the Estill voice model.
With experience in a range of genres, 2016 brought the opportunity to explore a new direction as Dani joined Reggae/Rocksteady band The Scorchers. Having always loved Reggae, Dani fronted the band for over 3 years, releasing original material and performing at venues, events and festivals across the South East.
Dani then went on to front Swing/Jive band Betty Baker & The Swingtones which was unfortunately cut short due the covid pandemic. After this Dani continued performing as a solo event singer.
Dani has a love for playing piano, guitar and ukulele and always continuing to study and explore the voice.
Then of course, there's Vocademy...
Dani started teaching 1-1s and classes for Vocademy in 2013, soon the Maidstone branch started growing and in 2015 the Director at the time offered Dani a pilot franchise. Dani poured her passion for singing, music, performance and teaching into the school and in 2016 was handed the reigns and became Director and Principal Coach of what is now VOCADEMY - Vocal & Performance Training.
Emma Sackett
Vocal Coach / Company Director

Emma trained as a vocal coach with our Principal Vocal Coach Dani, combine this with her previous background (medical degree) and Emma progressed quickly in the study of vocal anatomy, production of phonation and music theory.
Emma is certified at Distinction level with RSL Grade 8 Vocals, performs as a solo event singer and has performed in multiple theatre shows with MAOS.
Emma is preparing for further qualifications in Vocal Coaching and teaches students from beginner to advanced level.
Lauren Wingrove

Lauren began Vocal Coach training with Principal Coach Dani in 2019 gaining a Distinction for Grade 8 Vocals, after which she began teaching beginner level students.
Alongside teaching, Lauren continued training with Dani, progressing to teaching higher level students. Lauren has now been teaching Beginner to Advanced level students for a number of years and continues to engage in professional devlopment.
Lauren has performed from a young age, performing in both the UK and Germany. Lauren has performed in multiple theatre shows with MAOS and gigs as a solo events singer.
Phoebe Brooks

Phoebe is a professional freelance vocalist and vocal coach with a passion for sharing her love of music, performance, and vocal technique.
Drawing on her experience across various areas of the music industry, she is eager to help students develop their voices, confidence, and performance skills.
From a young age, Phoebe trained in choirs and musical theatre, gaining opportunities to perform at renowned venues including The Palladium, The O2, Times Square NYC and the Royal Albert Hall, where she was awarded a solo.
Phoebe holds a First Class Honours degree in Music Performance, a distinction in her college performance diploma, and Grade 8 in vocals.
Beginning her professional gigging career at just fifteen, Phoebe has since built extensive experience as a performer. Alongside her vocal coaching, she is the lead vocalist of several musical projects, continuing to work actively within the industry.
Through her experience in performance, music management, and the professional industry, Phoebe offers students valuable first-hand guidance, helping them develop their vocal abilities, stage presence, and understanding of the music world.
Lilly Tether

Lilly started dancing at the age of 5 which is where her passion for musical theatre began. She auditioned for her local theatre school when she was 11 years old and played the lead in Annie, so she began vocal training. From this moment on, she knew she wanted to perform for a living.
Lilly has recently graduated from D&B Academy of Performing Arts, and signed with an agent. As a fresh graduate, Lilly is in and out of West End audition rooms and has first hand experience of the audition industry and what casting directors are looking for.
She has experience teaching at D&B Academy of performing arts, and of the students she has enrolled for exams in musical theatre and pop recital, they all received distinctions! She is passionate about what she does and loves to spread her knowledge and enthusiasm for singing and performing.
Sophie Earl

Sophie’s passion and knowledge for performing and Musical Directing started as a child, she started composing and arranging from the age of 14, writing two musicals by the age of 16.
She has gigged around Kent and London since she was 16. Sophie trained in Musical Theatre at Chichester Conservatoire where she played Flora in Flora the Red Menace and Sidesaddle in Soho Cinders - during her three years training Sophie musically directed/assisted on 5 shows.
Straight after graduating and being signed to a leading West End Agency - Sophie got her first professional job acting and singing in three shows as part of a summer season including the role of Sally in Oliver Award Winning comedy ‘Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick’ and an actor musician in the musical Tom Foolery.

Mary Briggs

Mary is a Singer, Actress, Musical Theatre Performer and Vocal Coach with a passion for helping students develop both strong technique and confidence in performance.
She began her training at a young age, attending classes at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, where she studied singing, acting and movement. This early foundation sparked a lasting love of performing and storytelling through song, particularly within Musical Theatre, Jazz, Pop, R&B and various other genres.
Alongside teaching, Mary continues to work professionally as a performer. She performs within theatre, live events and is represented for screen work, including commercial projects. Her current industry experience allows her to support students who are interested in auditions and performing, as well as those simply singing for enjoyment.
She believes singing should feel accessible and enjoyable for everyone, and that confidence in the voice often leads to confidence beyond the lesson room.
Maddie Andrews

Maddie is a professional Singer, Actress and Vocal Coach who loves helping people discover their voice, build confidence and enjoy every step of their singing journey.
She has been performing professionally since the age of eight and has always had a passion for music and the performing arts. Maddie trained in Musical Theatre at the London College of Performing Arts before going on to graduate from BIMM University with a degree in Music Performance and Music Business.
Alongside teaching, Maddie continues to work as a professional actress, appearing in television, film and commercial productions. As someone who is actively working in the industry, she enjoys sharing her experience with students, whether they’re preparing for auditions, working towards performances or simply singing because they love it.
Maddie believes that everyone can sing with the right guidance and encouragement. Her lessons are relaxed, supportive and tailored to each individual, creating a fun environment where students can develop healthy vocal technique, grow in confidence and enjoy making music together.
Tura Randall

Tura is an enthusiastic contemporary piano tutor who also specialises in composition, songwriting and music theory. She has a first class Degree in Commercial Music Performance as well as Level 3 BTEC extended diploma in music with an overall grade of 3x Distinctions.
Tura is an avid composer and songwriter, having written musicals, ballets, and orchestral symphonies, some of which have been workshopped in London. She has worked on these projects as resident musical director at the London College of Performing Arts, and at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. She also has experience in teaching students with special needs.
Tura is incredibly passionate and excited about teaching and strongly believes that learning music should always be an enjoyable experience; tailoring lessons to suit individual goals. She can also offer guidance with composition and theory if interested.
Max Armstrong

Max is a patient and experienced tutor who is passionate about piano, music and fostering creativity.
Max has trained as a pianist for over 10 years up to a Grade 8 level. He enjoys composing and arranging songs, has regularly played with professionals and friends and has participated in many local music festivals such as Maidstone Music Festival.
Max is happy to teach a wide range of styles. He can play multiple instruments and loves discovering new sounds. He has experience with teaching from a wide range of subjects.
Brigid Lohrey
Acting & Performance Coach

Brigid is a versatile actor and acting coach with over 20 years’ professional experience across stage, screen, and voice, alongside 12 years as a LAMDA examiner.
On stage, Brigid has performed a wide range of roles, from villains, queens, and fairies in musicals and pantomime to Shakespearean heroines and contemporary comedy characters. Her screen credits include guest roles in Hope Street, with an upcoming appearance in House of the Dragon (June 2026), as well as performances in campaigns for Curry’s, The Stroke Association, and Shelter. She has also appeared in the award-winning short films Baby Thump and Samuel.
Her extensive performance background informs her coaching practice, enabling her to support actors with text, character development, audition technique, and performance confidence.
