WHAT TO EXPECT

• Performances at local events (optional but encouraged)

 

 

REHEARSAL MATERIAL

• All rehearsal material will be sent via email prior to the start of term

• Folder will be given to each choir member at the start of term, select your preference of rehearsal material in the registration form

• Option of standard lyrics, guided lyrics or sheet music

• Rehearsal tracks (Full track and separate tracks for each choir section)

• You can use the rehearsal material to familiarise with the repertoire prior to rehearsal

• If you would rather just show up and learn it on the day that is also absolutely fine :)

FREE TRIAL

• All new members are welcome to a free trial session to see if you would like to join

• Due to our updated term structure, even if you’ve had a free trial before but didn’t register, you’re welcome to try us again - for free!

• We offer free trials for the first 4 weeks of term (1 free trial per person - 15th Sep, 22nd Sep, 29th Sep, 6th Oct)

 

 

TERM DETAILS

• Duration: 10 week term

• Day/Time: Mondays 7pm-8:30pm

• Rehearsal Location: Auditorium - Invicta Grammar School, ME14 5DS

• End of Term Performance Location:  The Mercure Hotel, ME17 1RE

 

Term Dates (avoiding half terms):

• September - 15th, 22nd, 29th

• October - 6th, 13th, (no sessions on 20th 27th due to half term)

• November - 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th

• December - 1st (End of Term Performance)

 

Term Fee:

• Term fee is £98* (adjusted accordingly if attending free trial)

• This includes:

  • All sessions

  • Rehearsal material

  • As many family and friends as you would like attending at our end of term performance (or of course you don't have to invite anyone if you don't want to)

  • Performances at local events

• Payment options:

  • In full at registration

  • In 2 instalments (1st - £49 at registration by 15/09, 2nd - £49 by Week 6 03/11)

  • Please note if paying in instalments, once registered the full fee must be paid in due course. Unattended sessions will not be deducted from the fee

 

 

REHEARSAL LOCATION

This term rehearsals will be held at the music auditorium at Invicta Grammar School, a great venue with a full sound system, grand piano and seating. As well as ample free parking

COACHES

Dani will be running all rehearsals throughout this term with guest Coaches joining us on rehearsal weeks

 

 

GENRES & TECHNIQUES

We'll be covering a range of genres, vocal techniques, stylistic artistry and performance skills

 

Songs:

• Somewhere Only We Know - Lilly Allen

  A Christmas-like feel making it the perfect seasonal piece, focusing on expression and vocal blending

   

• I Will Wait - Mumford & Sons

  A Folk-Rock song with contrasting dynamics ranging from soft verses with layered harmonies to a chorus with a driving rhythm

   

• You Will Be Found - Dear Evan Hansen

  An uplifting theatre piece that begins quiet with solo lines and builds throughout with full rich harmonies. Focusing on storytelling, phrasing and building emotion

   

A fourth song may be added later in the term, depending on how confidently and quickly the choir progresses with the initial repertoire

 

 

END OF TERM PERFORMANCE

Term will round up with a session at The Mercure Hotel, where we will have a final rehearsal of all songs followed by a performance for family and friends (no additional fee to family and friends, included in term fee)

 

 

EVENTS
