PURPOSE

Vocademy is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive environment for everyone attending our events. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour and helps ensure that all participants can enjoy and learn from our programs.

 

This Code applies to all attendees, students, parents/guardians, coaches and volunteers.

Core Expectations (All Participants)

 

All individuals are expected to:

​

• Treat others with respect, kindness, and professionalism

 

• Follow instructions from event staff and organisers

 

• Support a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment

 

• Respect personal boundaries and property

 

• Comply with all Vocademy policies, venue rules, and local laws

Behaviour Standards

 

Respectful Conduct:

​

• No bullying, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind (including based on age, ability, race, gender, religion, or background)

 

• No disruptive behaviour during performances, classes, or activities

 

• Appropriate language and behaviour at all times

Safety:

​

• Follow safety instructions and emergency procedures

​

• No running, rough play, or unsafe behaviour

​​

• Report hazards, injuries, or concerning behaviour to a coach immediately
   

 

Substance-Free Environment:

​

• Alcohol is only permitted for over 18’s at events where there is a licenced bar

 

• Smoking / vaping is not permitted at Vocademy events unless a designated smoking area is stated 

 

• Possession or use of prohibited substances is not allowed
   

 

Technology & Media:

​

• Follow event rules regarding photography, video, and audio recording
   

• No unauthorised recording of students or performances
   

• Phones and devices should be silenced during performances

Expectations for Attendees & Parents/Guardians

​

• Supervise children as required by the event
   

• Ensure students arrive and are picked up on time
   

• Model respectful behavior toward staff, performers, and other families

 

• Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times. Anyone not dressed appropriately will be asked to change / leave the event

Expectations for Coaches, Volunteers & External Staff

 

Coaches, volunteers & external staff are expected to:

​

• Act professionally and responsibly at all times
   

• Use positive, age-appropriate communication
   

• Maintain appropriate boundaries with students
   

• Never be alone with a student unless authorised by Vocademy
   

• Report concerns related to safety, conduct, or wellbeing immediately to a Coach

 

• Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times. Anyone not dressed appropriately will be asked to change / leave the event. Coaches will be informed in advance of any specific dress code.

Student-Specific Expectations

 

Students are expected to:

​

• Follow coach and staff directions
   

• Be respectful to peers, coaches, and volunteers
   

• Take care of instruments, equipment, and facilities
   

• Participate in activities in a safe and positive manner

 

• Appropriate clothing must be worn at all times. Anyone not dressed appropriately will be asked to change / leave the event

Prohibited Behaviour

 

The following may result in removal from the event:

​

• Physical aggression or threats
   

• Harassment, bullying, or inappropriate contact
   

• Damage or theft of property
   

• Repeated disruption after warnings
   

• Failure to follow coach/staff instructions

Reporting Concerns

 

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct:

​

• Notify a coach or event coordinator immediately
   

• Reports will be handled respectfully and confidentially when possible

Enforcement

 

Vocademy reserves the right to:

​

• Issue verbal warnings
   

• Require individuals to leave the event
   

• Contact parents/guardians when students are involved
   

• Take further action as necessary to ensure safety

Agreement

 

Attendance or participation in Vocademy events indicates agreement to follow this Code of Conduct.
